ULTIMATE advice you need to succeed!

Are you new in your role as a nonprofit professional? Are you savvy enough to know there's plenty you still don't know about what it takes to be successful in your career? Are you interested in finding a way to get up to speed quickly?

Join speaker, author and Gen Y expert Nancy Barry for the ULTIMATE orientation, as she shares the secrets to success. She'll tell you what your boss wants you to know, but doesn't have time to tell you. Based on 25 years in the corporate world, Nancy helps twentysomethings meet and exceed their manager's expectations by revealing behaviors that are critically important in the workplace.

Tailored to nonprofit professionals with five or fewer years experience the session will address the following topics and more:
  • Why "soft skills" are critical to your success

  • Communicating on a professional level

  • Things that drive your boss crazy and why you should avoid doing them

  • Building and nurturing relationships, inside and outside the organization

  • With the generous support of ExxonMobil, the Center for Nonprofit Management is proud to present this session filled with practical advice that will help you be successful in your career. It promises to be a fun, interactive session that will give you information you can put to immediate use.

Thanks to the generosity of the Communities Foundation of Texas, each participant will receive a copy of Nancy Barry's book, When Reality Hits: What Employers Want Recent College Graduates to Know. Following the morning session, participants will have the opportunity to start building relationships with other young nonprofit professionals in the north Texas area during a networking lunch. You'll also have a chance to have your book autographed by Nancy.
